Hello!
I wanted to share with you this super fun and easy-to-make Christmas Card. I LOVE the distressed look on cards, it is one of my favorite inking techniques to use!
Check out the video tutorial at the end of the post where you can see step by step how I made this card.
Supplies are listed below.
Steps to Make this card:
- Cut an A2 size card (Top Folding) out of Butter Cream Cardstock. Also using the same cardstock, cut a piece measuring 5.25″x 4″ for the front panel. Save an additional piece about 4×4 to stamp the sentiment a little later.
- Using the Create-A-Dot stamp set create the background on the front panel piece. Use Oatmeal Cookie ink to stamp the big image, then start adding the small design circles randomly through out the panel. I used the following ink colors for the designs: Pomegranate Splash, Kiwi Slice, Hazelnut Blend, and Cocoa Powder. If your designs are not perfectly aligned with the circles don’t worry, it will still look great.
- Get you small dauber and ink the edges using Oatmeal Cookie. Begin by inking from the outside in so the harsher color stays on scratch paper or mat under your panel. Continue to add ink around all panel edges. Now do a few more spots using the Hazelnut Blend ink. Just pick a few spots through out the card to add darker color so the accents can pop. Set panel aside for now.
- Get the 4×4 piece of cardstock and stamp the sentiment “Deck The Halls” from the Holiday Celebrations stamp set, and use Black Licorice ink to stamp image. Cut around the sentiment leaving about .25″ distance from image. Once cut, ink the edges just like you did the panel in step #3.
- Grab one sheet of the Christmas paper from the “Through the Year” Printed paper pack, and use your Bread Tag die to cut a tag out of the pine branches side. Ink the edges on the tag as you did before.
- Now you will create a small mat for the sentiment. Adhere the sentiment to the back side of the printed paper featuring the pine cones, now cut around the sentiment leaving about .5″ distance from the cardstock.
- Tie a bow to the left corner of the tag, using satin ribbon in Candy Apple color. Adhere the sentiment ( now on the mat you just created) and adhere to tag using medium foam squares.
- Adhere the tag to the panel with medium foam squares, and finally adhere the panel to the card base using the easy glide tape runner.
- Add some green and red gems from the Rainbow Drops set, use Journey glue dots to adhere to the places in the front panel of your choosing.
- Add journey glaze to the letters in the sentiment, then to the mat around the sentiment. Let dry for about 20 minutes until the journey glaze is completely solid.
