Hello!

I hope you are having a good Wednesday, I have a video tutorial for this cute Feel Better Soon Card. For this project I used Fun Stampers Journey Pan Pastels to color the flowers. They are part of the September Special going on! Take 20% off select Mixed Media items. Find more about the September sale HERE

I used three stamp sets on this card:

SWEET POPPY AT-0266
CANVAS PRINTS SS-0019
GET WELL SS-0331

The Pan Pastels were used from 2 different collections:

PAN PASTELS PARTY POP JM-0081
PAN PASTELS RICH SORBETS JM-0082

STEPS TO COMPLETE CARD: ( Video Tutorial below these instructions:)

  1. Fold Card Base size A2 ( 8.5″x11 sheet cut in half portrait side, scored at half) – Cardstock GREEN OLIVE
  2. Cut 2 pieces of BUTTER CREAM Cardstock, each: 4″x5.25″
  3. In a piece of WHIP CREAM cardstock stamp 4 of the flowers from Sweet Poppy, and 6 of the leaves from the same set. You will use Clear Pigment Ink to stamp these images. You will be embossing with clear embossing power in the following step
  4. Add the clear embossing powder to the freshly stamped images ( you can also use another color of powder if desired we carry black, white, gold and silver)
  5. Remove any excess powder and then heat emboss using the Journey Heat tool until each image has the powder completely melted. Caution not to over heat and burn the embossing powder. ( Tip! – pre heat gun for a few seconds before using it on paper to avoid paper warping.)
  6. Affter Embossing choose the colors of pan pastels and using the included sponges color your flowers. Use the lightest color to color over entire flower, then with a contrasting shade color just the inside of the flower. You can also add some white pan pastel to the edges of each petal . ( Tip! Remember to have a paper towel handy to clean off your sponge in between colors and to remove any excess powder from image.
  7. Proceed to color the leaves choosing two different shades of green
  8. Once everything is colored, fuzzy cut each image. Then using oatmeal cookie ink and a sponge, add ink to all the edges of the flowers and also some to the inside of the flower to showcase the lines of the petals. Repeat same inking to the leaves.
  9. Use a small piece of BLACK LICORICE cardstock to stamp sentiment using whip cream ink. Cut sentiment into a rectangular strip and cut a fish tale on the right side of the sentiment.
  10. Get one of the BUTTER CREAM pieces of cardstock and stamp the canvas prints image on it using the largest acrylic block Size “J” and Oatmeal Cookie ink, using a sponge also add some areas of Hazelnut Blend to edges of stamp, and around center. Stamp onto cardstock ( Tip! – Little goes a long way with the Hazelnut Blend)
  11. Ink stamp again with just the oatmeal cookie and stamp second pieces of Butter Cream cardstock. Also stamp with same ink pad some flowers around paper leaving the middle area clear to leave room for writing. Set second piece aside for now. ( this piece will be used for inside of card to write message)
  12. Now it is time to put card together, adhere flowers and leaves to the background piece. Glue down the first flower and a leaf towards the top right of card, then using small foam squares pop the rest of the flowers around the background piece. You may have to cut down some of the leaves to make them fit. Leave a small area clear on the bottom right hand corner for the sentiment.
  13. Adhere the sentiment towards the right bottom corner where you left space, use small foam squares.
  14. Use journey glaze only in the center of each flower, then sprinkle some sparkle dust on top. Set aside on a flat surface for 10 minutes or until completely dry.
